My 5 tips for transitioning to table food with #Boon

Each age and stage offers fun new experiences and one of my favorites is when my children transition from baby food to table food. Baby food is all fine and dandy, but for me it got really old really fast – especially the more children I had to prepare meals for. And while everyone grows and develops at their own pace I have found that having a self feeding 10 month old makes the world of difference at meal times. We now eat meals as a family where everyone gets to eat at the same time; which is nice because I am not a big fan of cold dinners.

Since I love this stage of development so much I have decided to put together a little list of tips for making this transition as easy as possible. It is a process and not something that happens overnight. We started this process with my daughter when she was 8 months old and now that she is 10 months old she is self feeding while sitting at the dinner table with the whole family and we are all eating together at the SAME TIME! And thanks to Boon, she is doing it in style {Thank you Boon for sending us samples for the purpose of review}!

How to get out butter stains! #DIY

The other day I was making lunch for the family and I made quite the mess. I was cooking some grilled cheese sandwiches {because – YUM} and I spilled melted butter all over the front of my shirt. I was not a happy camper as it was a favorite shirt of mine. So I changed shirts and got to work on removing the melted butter stain on my shirt. This will also work on getting rid of grease stains too!

Easter on the road #WW

Easter this year was at my parent’s home. We made it a nice long weekend; I took the children down to see my family on Thursday and then we came back home on Easter Sunday. Typically we stay home for the holidays like Easter and Christmas and have our own family celebrations complete with our own family traditions. But this year we changed things up and traveled. It was wonderful spending time with my family and my children loved every minute of playing with their cousins and their grandparents. The egg hunt was a big hit too!

Super Simple Caramel Sauce #Recipe

I have a bit of a sweet tooth. I am a sucker for desserts with chocolate and caramel and nuts. Something about the sweet and salty combination gets me every time. Lately I have been toying around in my kitchen with a turtle cluster type dessert recipe and as a result I have been working on an easy caramel sauce recipe. While the turtle cluster recipe is still in the works, I thought I would share the simple caramel sauce recipe with you – as it is really delicious and would be great drizzled on just about anything.

Breakfast al fresco with the kids! #WW

What is it called when you eat outside? Oh yeah, it is called dining al fresco. I guess it has been so long since I got to enjoy dining outdoors that the term simply slipped my mind there for a minute. Well… This last week I took the kiddos on a little shopping trip to the Chicago Premium Outlets for a little pre-Disney shopping trip for shoes and we were a little early, which meant that we were right on time for some Starbucks coffee for mom and a sweet roll for the boys. Thank goodness it was a lovely day and we were able to enjoy our breakfast outdoors at the little café tables near the food court.

One Dish Dinner with the Hot Ham & Cheese Casserole #Recipe

I love a good casserole. Anything that can be thrown together to create a simple yet delicious meal is a win in my books. This hot ham and cheese casserole completely hits the spot. It is cheesy, creamy, and savory. By using gnocchi instead of noodles it is hearty as well. It reminds me of a pot pie, but it is so much better in my opinion. It is a great one dish dinner that the whole family can enjoy.

The many faces of the Joovy TooFold stroller! #Review

If you have been following Mom Mart for a while you know just how much I love Joovy. They are my go-to for bold, bright, beautiful baby products and they always seem to meet my multifunctional needs. The new Joovy TooFold stroller offers the same high quality I have come to expect in Joovy products in a really cool package that can transform at the drop of a hat.

When I say that this stroller transforms I mean just that; it goes from being a single stroller to a sit and stand stroller to a double tandem stroller with the addition of the second seat attachment sold separately. My children call the TooFold stroller the bumblebee stroller. I am not quite sure if that is based off of the transformer Bumblebee or if it has more to do with the bright yellow color (lemontree is the actual name of the color). Either way it is a pretty fitting nickname.

Blue Cheese Brussels Sprouts #Recipe

I don’t really remember ever eating Brussels sprouts as a child. I remember my mother making broccoli, green beans, and Harvard beats galore – but never Brussels sprouts. Recently my in-laws have been on a Brussels sprout kick and have raved about how delicious they are. So I thought I would start experimenting with them. I figure pretty much anything is good with cheese, right? So I decided to make some blue cheese Brussels sprouts and after a little trial and error I have a wonderful recipe to share with you!

Hello Park… I’ve missed you. #WW

With climbers, slides, balance beams, and swings back in the mix I am ready to start getting outdoors more with my family! Thank you spring, for finally showing up. It took you a while, but you made it – so thank you! I now get to enjoy parks again. My children will not be bouncing off of the walls from boredom and I will be able to give my brain a much needed rest from trying to come up with a gazillion indoor activities to entertain, educate, and engage my children with.

Decorating and Organizing with Boon #Giveaway

Do you ever feel like your life is being taken over by your children? Do you have diapers, wipes, ointment, toys, and baby gear in every room of your house?  I do. I usually try to keep it all organized, but there are some days that my children take over and it looks like my home has been hit by a tornado of toddler destruction. My latest project has been putting the finishing touches on decorating the kid’s rooms… but that means that I would have to be able to find their rooms amid all the chaos!
