I have
been a fan of Contours Baby for a very long time. I love that they are a
family-owned company who are passionate about what they create and it shows in
the products that they make. Contours recently launched their brand new tandem
double stroller, the Contours Options Elite. I received one to review and I was
very impressed with this stroller. Since I own the Optima tandem stroller I was also able to compare the two strollers a bit .
As a mother of three little ones I find that traveling, shopping, and family excursions are all easier when I have a double stroller. The more flexible that stroller is the better off everyone is. Given that my family is very active and constantly on the go, we use our double stroller every day. The Contours Options Elite makes even the difficult days easier thanks to its versatility in seating options {there are seven seat configurations}.

I love
that there are so many different seating options. Right now my youngest two use
this stroller regularly and on any given day the seats will be changed at least
twice depending on my children’s mood and how well they are getting along. My middle child is three years-old and the baby of the family is one and both love to move around. My daughter has also been known to kick… so
sometimes she has to be turned around to face mom instead of her brother.
The
canopy on the Options Elite is pretty incredible. There is now a zipper on the
canopy that when opened expands the canopy by a full panel. The panel extension
is mesh {as is the peek-a-boo window with Velcro closure} –providing great
airflow. Zipping the canopy open and closed is easy and having the option of a
larger canopy has been really great for long days out and about with my crew.
I am
all about the storage. Especially on outings when I am hauling a diaper
bag, a camera bag, a picnic lunch, and any number of random things my children
feel that they NEED to bring on our trip. A large storage basket is a must for me.
But this storage basket takes it one step further with the zippered access on
either side of the basket. There is no more reaching in-between and underneath children hoping that what I am grasping at is what I am looking for. Now I can unzip from the side and easily reach in
to get what I need. There is also a fantastic pocket on the inside of the seat for my kiddos to store toys and a bottle - or for me to tuck my keys.
Another
very major bonus for this stroller is the fact that it folds with BOTH seats
attached. It has an easy freestanding fold {which you can watch me demonstrate
in my YouTube Review} and is just as simple to unlock and open up. The
auto-lock latch on the Options Elite stroller is in the form of a circle - so
it does not slip off of the lock and accidentally open up when being moved. I can easily take this stroller in and out of my car.
I did a
little side by side comparison of the Contours Options Elite and the Contours
Optima so that you can see some of the differences for yourself.
The brakes are
different on these strollers. The Options Elite has a brake pedal that locks
both wheels at the same time and the Optima has two independently working
brakes for the rear tires.
The Options comes
with a parent cup holder that attaches to the side and the Optima has a parent
tray.
The Options Elite has
the expandable mesh canopy with a mesh peek-a-boo windows located on the back
panel. The Optima has a plastic peek-a-boo window located on the top of the
canopy.
Both the Options
Elite and the Optima have a front bar. The release button however has changed
locations on the Options Elite so that it is now located on the side instead of
underneath, making it easy to locate and use.
The shape of the
footrest of the Options Elite appears rounded, where the Optima footrest had a
more squared shape.
There
is a lot to like about this stroller. It is easy to maneuver, even with the
weight of two children on board. The expandable canopy is awesome –especially
on warm sunny days. Having access to the storage basket without having to dig
around, under, and in between two tots is a huge time saver. And last but not
least the 7 seat configurations, seat recline feature {3 seat recline positions}, and adjustable footrest makes
this a great stroller for an active growing family on the go. Check out my
video review below to see the Contours Options Elite in action! You can also

The Contours Options Elite stroller weighs 38lbs and has a total weight
capacity of 80 lbs - up to 40lbs per seat. Contours Baby has now made
accessories available to purchase for their strollers. You can now purchase the
child tray, shopping basket, parent console, weather shield, and additional infant car seat adapter.
