I am the mother of two little boys who are 100% boy 100% of the time. I spend a large part of my day picking up toys and cleaning up one mess after another. My oldest son has discovered dirt and loves to pick it up, throw it, and decorate our home with it. My youngest son is a five-month-old little boy who spends his tummy-time playing on the floor, so having a clean floor is a must in our home.
Recently my old vacuum cleaner decided to stop working. It was time to find a replacement. I had some criteria for the new vacuum I was going to get. I needed a vacuum cleaner that could keep up with my family and our active lifestyle, something that was easy to use and would last a long time. Our old vacuum cleaner was loud and scared my toddler to the point of tears whenever I used it. The new vacuum needed to be a quiet vacuum that wouldn’t terrify my children. I needed a vacuum that would give me some peace of mind as to the cleanliness of my home. This seems like a lot to ask of a vacuum, right?
I was given the opportunity to test and review the new Hoover Presto 2-in-1 Cordless Stick Vacuum and I could not be a bigger fan of this vacuum!
This vacuum is ultra light and easy to maneuver. It is incredibly slim and easy to store anywhere. This vacuum is quiet enough that my toddler likes to help mommy use it! Needless to say, this vacuum was a big hit in our home.

What we love about the Hoover Presto 2-in-1 Cordless Stick Vacuum:
- This vacuum is really two machines in one. I can use this vacuum as a stick vacuum for cleaning my entire floor or I can use this vacuum as a hand vacuum for spot cleaning. This is fabulous for cleaning up after snack time. With a one touch release, I can easily detach the hand vacuum and use it to vacuum up crumbs.
- It works just as well on my hardwood and tile floors as it does on my carpeting. I can clean my entire first floor with one machine!
- I absolutely adore that this vacuum is completely cordless. I can charge the vacuum and go. I no longer have to trip over a cord or hunt for outlets when cleaning my home.
- The vacuum itself is very light. It is easy for me to bring up and down the stairs and use all around my house. It is light enough that my child can carry it.
- The stick vacuum folds down for easy storage. Space is in limited supply in my home and I appreciate companies that make their products compact and easy to store.
- This vacuum comes with a 3-in-1 detachable tool that connects to the hand held vacuum, making spot cleaning even easier for those hard to reach spaces that crumbs tend to hide.
- The vacuum includes a rinsable HEPA media filter. It is easy to clean. You simply pop it out, give it a rinse, and let it dry. Simple.
- One of my favorite features about this vacuum is that is easy to clean. The cup that collects the dirt, dust, and debris is clear and is makes knowing when to empty incredibly easy. You can pop out the cup, dump the contents in the garbage, pop the cup back in, and get back to cleaning.
Some things to be aware of with this product are its battery requirements. Before using this appliance the battery must be charged. I think this should be common sense, but I am stating it anyways. Prior to using this vacuum for the FIRST time, the battery needs to be charged 12 hours. The battery then needs to be completely depleted before it is charged again on the charging base. Repeat this process twice more. After the third use, the battery will only take 6-8 hours to fully charge. I love that this vacuum is completely cordless and I do not find the charging instructions difficult. In order to get the most out of this machine this is something you need to be aware of.
