I was a huge fan of Monsters Inc. when it came out
and can remember going to see it in theaters. When I heard that there was going
to be another movie with Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan “Sulley”, I knew
that I needed to see it and I hoped that I would love it just as much as
Monsters Inc. Monsters University did not disappoint. Thank you to Click
Communications for providing me with a sample of Monsters University to review,
my entire family has enjoyed watching over and over and over again!

Synopsis:
Ever since college-bound
Mike Wazowski (voice of Billy Crystal) was a little monster, he has dreamed of
becoming a Scarer—and he knows better than anyone that the best Scarers come
from Monsters University (MU). But during his first semester at MU, Mike’s
plans are derailed when he crosses paths with hotshot James P. Sullivan,
“Sulley” (voice of John Goodman), a natural-born Scarer. The pair’s
out-of-control competitive spirit gets them both kicked out of the University’s
elite Scare Program. To make matters worse, they realize they will have to work
together, along with an odd bunch of misfit monsters, if they ever hope to make
things right. “Monsters University” bravely explores themes of self-discovery
and the revelations that come with growing up.
My Thoughts:
I
have now watched Monsters University about six times and I have a feeling that
number is only going to increase. It is a family friendly movie that I would
watch again and again… and I have! My children love Mike Wazowski; I have to
admit that he is my favorite character as well.
He is the underdog in Monsters University and you cannot help but root
for him right from the get go.
The
back and forth banter between Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan is
entertaining, but I feel that the really great scenes are when the band of
misfit monsters work together to try to win the Scare Games. The characters are
endearing and highly entertaining.
The
extra features such as Deleted Scenes and School Story are definitely worth
watching, I enjoyed learning about why some scenes made the cut and others did
not. I also enjoyed learning all about the art of making Sulley and all the
other furry creatures.
Monsters University will be released on
October 29, 2013 in multi-formats including Blu-Ray 3D, Blu-Ray, DVD &
Digital Copy, as well as On Demand.
