HALO SleepSack Swaddle Review and Giveaway

I have always swaddled my babies. Both of my boys loved being swaddled from the day they were born until they outgrew their sleep sacks. Baby Julia on the other hand prefers to have her arms free while sleeping, so my old swaddle blankets and traditional sleep sacks were a no go for my newest bundle of joy. She wanted nothing to do with them. So when HALO offered to send me the HALO SleepSack Swaddle for review I was excited, as this product allows for my baby to have her arms free while still being safely swaddled.

Learning the art of swaddling can be a bit tricky and each person seems to do it differently. I was flabbergasted the first time I saw a nurse swaddle my baby, they turned him into a little blanket burrito and I was absolutely sure that there was no wary on God’s green Earth I would be able to replicate it. While I was eventually able to figure out the whole swaddling thing I was also super excited to figure out that there were products out there that took the guesswork out of traditional swaddling.

Halo Sleep Sack Swaddle

The HALO SleepSack Swaddle makes swaddling as easy as 1, 2, 3. One, place your baby in the open SleepSack making sure their arms are through the arm holes. Two, zip the zipper on the SleepSack. Three, use the adjustable Velcro swaddle wrap to keep your baby’s arms secure. It really is that simple.

What we love about the HALO SleepSack Swaddle:
I love that it is simple to use. And to make it even easier HALO has instructions sewn right into the SleepSack Swaddle for quick and easy reference.

The HALO SleepSack Swaddle is 100% cotton and machine washable {we wash using the cold gentle cycle}, just make sure to close the Velcro when laundering for best results.

The HALO SleepSack Swaddle has been deemed “hip healthy” by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute.

It comes in adorable colors, patterns, and fabrics. You can get the HALO SleepSack Swaddle in Micro-Fleece, Plushy Dot Velboa, 100% Organic Cotton, or 100% Cotton.  The one pictured above is the Diamond Pink Elephant and we love it!

Since September is Baby Safety Month I thought it would be appropriate to share a little bit about the HALO® Safer Way to Sleep Initiative!

HALO Innovation’s SleepSack® Swaddle has become the standard for hospital nurseries and parents alike. In fact, 1,000 hospital nurseries use the HALO SleepSack Swaddle instead of blankets through the HALO Safer Way to Sleep Initiative. That is 1.5 million births getting first-hand, in-hospital experience with the HALO SleepSack Swaddle and safe sleep practices! Leading health organizations agree that modeling proper baby care in the hospital is the single biggest influence on how parents care for their baby at home. HALO Innovations also offers free Safe Sleep Practices kits to childbirth educators to help further the cause of SIDS prevention.

Sadly, the hospital that I delivered all three of my children in did not use the HALO SleepSack Swaddles when my children were born. I would have loved to have gotten firsthand experience with the HALO SleepSack Swaddle right from the beginning. I would have loved to have been able to participate in the Take-Home Program that sends parents home from the hospital with a HALO® SleepSack® wearable blanket.

Baby Julia loves her HALO SleepSack Swaddle and I love that she is being kept warm while still being safe. I love that it is s o easy to use and easy to clean. It is definitely a new mom must have.

To connect with HALO, you can visit them on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, as well as their websiteSeptember is Baby Safety Month; HALO will donate $1 to Safe Sleep Organizations for every new Facebook “like”.

Honestly there is so many I really can't even think of one good one. I'm a mother of three and all babies are different, but if you're just starting out I would have to say the best tip would be to go with your gut instinct. So many professionals say don't do this do that instead, but only YOU know your baby!!!
My best parenting tip for baby saftey.... hmmm. Have eyes in the back of your head. Just kidding. I would have to say be attentive. Don't assume that a quiet child is a happily occupied child who is not getting into trouble. A quiet house usually means mischief.

Don't assume because they usually don't do something or get into trouble, that they won't do it. I'm bad about that sometimes! :)

I would say you can never be to cautious. Although my first was easy going and didn't get into much don't expect that with all your children. My second is proving to be my more curious one that gets into everything.

Use outlet protectors and baby gates. You can't be too careful!

I also like the HALO® SleepSack® Big Kids Lightweight Knit Cupcake.
You can never be too careful or check on your children too often. Better safe than sorry

Get cord shorteners if you have crawlers!
I used a snuza with both of my kids! It gave me extra peace of mind even though I was following all the safe-sleep guidelines too

Before your baby starts to crawl you should get down and crawl around yourself to see the world through their eyes to try to find as many potential hazards as possible.

I love the organic sleepsacks! So cute. Also, baby proof early :) better to be safe than sorry
A safety tip I have is to keep nothing in the crib with your baby except for the sheet on the mattress to prevent the baby from suffocating. SIDS is very serious and sadly happens to so many babies because parents aren't informed.

Another product of theirs I'd like to try is the SaddleChange Changing Pad Cover! How neat. I'm expecting my first baby girl this fall, thanks for the opportunity.

Baby safety to me is keeping your hands clean at all times when holding your baby and making sure anyone who does hold the baby is clean also.

I also like the HALO® SwaddleChange™ Changing Pad Cover
Silence does not always equal safe.
The HALO® ComfortLuxe® Sensitive Skin Coverall would be a nice thing to have too.
Best safety tip is to rear face in a car seat as long as possible
I like the cable knit sleep sacks.

A tip would be to make sure you read the instructions/recommendations on all baby products. Don't assume that you know how it works.
When baby proofing always get on your child's level and look around. You may feel foolish doing it but you'll find out a heck of a lot more about your home!
I would say to never be to cautious and go with your gut!
