My Little Giant

My toddler just keeps growing and growing and growing. It is crazy too me how big he is getting. William is two years old wearing 4T clothing and being mistaken for a kindergartener at the park. It is not that he is a fat kid; he is just tall and quite solid in stature.

I feel like I am replacing everything before he really has a chance to get some good use out of it. Does my son think that money grows on trees? He must believe that this is the case. Why else would he continue to grow so rapidly with complete disregard to the cost of replacing everything he owns.

Pretty soon we will need bigger clothes, bigger shoes, and a bigger car seat.

This “rant” of mine is due to the realization that pretty soon I am going to have to replace his car seat. The limit on the car seat is 40lbs and we are very close to reaching this limit as well as the height limit. Car seats are expensive! There are so many car seats out there that I am at a loss as to which one to choose. Now there are car seats that go all the way to 100lbs.

Why didn’t someone talk to me about car seats a year ago? Before I bought the car seat I own now that only holds up to 40lbs and needs to be replaced with something longer lasting. Now I am researching car seats like crazy trying to find a great car seat that is going to grow with my child. There are several car seats on the market that boast long lasting capabilities… we will see about that.

I am planning on reading some blog product reviews on long lasting car seats as well as the product reviews on Amazon.com. I have found that Amazon.com and bloggers tend to be very honest and opinionated about products. You can bet that I will be blogging a product review of whichever car seat I end up with.

I know that all children eventually grow up, but can’t mine stay little for a little bit longer? He is so big! He could at least be somewhat considerate and grow at a slower pace. Although I love seeing him grow into a little man with a personality of his own, I miss the stages that we keep growing out of. I rue the day that mommy’s kisses no longer cure everything and he gets too big for cuddles.  Peter Pan’s Neverland is not looking to shabby.

Until that make believe place becomes a reality I guess I will have to come to terms with my baby turning into a little giant.

  2. We have a Graco Nautilus and LOVE it. it goes from a harnessed booster to a backed booster to a regular backless booster. Check it out! It's cheaper than a lot of Britax's.
